Summer 2011

Time for some catch up! I just got a new computer because my computer was old and slower then slow! I sat down to blog  multiple times and gave up because it took an hour or more to download the pictures!

I can't believe how fast time has gone.  My posts will be a little out of order because I still need to transfer some of my pictures from my old computer to my new one, but this is like my journal to keep record of what has gone on in our busy life so whatever I can post is great for me!

My little thumb sucker! She loves her thumbs. The pink on her head is from little cousin Kat who had been coloring with chalk.

Okay so I wrote this when my baby was a thumbsucker. Ever since she got teeth she has not liked her thumb as much.  She will still chew on her fingers but won't self-soothe herself like she use to.  Once she hit 6 months and got her bottom 2 teeth and decided she didn't like her thumb as much, she stopped sleeping through the night.  She was sleeping like 10-12 hours but I think it is because she wouldn't suck her thumb to go back to sleep that she started waking up wanting to eat.  Finally now at 9 months with 6 teeth she is sleeping through the night again.  It was hard work.  I had to let her cry herself to sleep! It was so hard for me to listen to her scream for an hour or more until she got sleepy again and would fall asleep.

Nissa and Zeke making silly faces! It was so fun to see my sister and her kids for the entire month of July. Nissa and Zeke sure love each other and sure are silly together! I told them to smile and these are the faces they both gave me.

Kristiina and Zeke being my little models for our owl hats.  My mom and I made hats for the Oh Sweet Sadie! Boutique in Daybreak. We were very busy sewing lots of hats.  We actually made close to 350 hats to sell and sold almost all of them.  We did 2 of the Oh Sweet Sadie Boutiques and 2 Holiday Markets at Wheeler Farm! It was a lot of work but so fun and worth it!

(Sorry I can't figure out how to turn it.)
Kristiina has been around owl hats for so long that she absolutely loves them! She doesn't love wearing them but she loves holding them and eating them. She laughs at anyone who is wearing one and thinks it is so funny!

My cute Zeke! He loves to wear hats now and hats leaving home without his owl hat! When we were making hats we would always have Zeke try them on. He got to the point where he was so sick of trying on hats that when we would say Zeke come here, he would run away yelling, "no more owl hats on my head!"

My Sweet Kristiina- 5 1/2 months old! She is the sweetest, happiest little girl!

Zeke collected eggs from Mumma's chickens. I asked Zeke what he had in his hands and he looked up and saw the camera and said, "Cheese." He is so funny!

Enjoying the slip-n-slide at mumma's house. He was hesitant at first to go on it but ended up loving every moment!

Man I miss those warm summer days!

Kristiina enjoying the beach at Bear Lake! It was so fun and perfect weather. We went with my family and it was so much fun.  Zeke loved the lake and loved going on the boat and the tube. When the rest of my pictures get transferred I will post some pics of Zeke on the tube!

Kristiina loves food! This is one of the first times I gave her rice cereal! To say she liked it is an understatement! She loved it! Notice when the spoon wasn't in her mouth? She would yell and get very upset! She still loves food and eats pretty much anything I give to her! She is a very good eater and isn't really picky! Although she is a very distracted eater.  If there is anything going on she has to stop and check it out. So it makes it a slow process sometimes!

While Elissa was in town we got cousin pictures done! They turned out so cute!

My baby is 9 months!

She is 9 months! I still can't believe how fast it went.

At 9 months Kristiina:

 is getting into everything!
Standing up by herself (doesn't even hold onto anything)
Saying Mama and Dada
She has also said Doggy, Jasper (my mom's dog),
My mom and brother aslo heard her say bum.
Loves to play especially with Zeke and his cars
Loves to eat anything and everything she finds on the floor (let's just say I vaccuum and sweep multiple times a day)
Loves to eat
Walks around furniture
Has 6 teeth! 4 on top, 2 on bottom

She is such a special little person and we love having her as part of our family, happy 9 months little one!

Happy 6 Months Kristiina

I can't believe she is already 6 months! half a year! Time goes too fast.

My 6 month old:
  • Loves any food I let her try. This girl loves food just like her mommy! It is a comfort thing for her too, so if in doubt give her food!
  • Is finally starting to sit up
  • Army crawls everywhere and will get up on her hands and knees and usually moves one knee and one arm then goes back to army crawling
  • Puts everything in her mouth! I am not use to this, Zeke never put stuff in his mouth except his binky. Her Dr. said it is a normal speech development thing, which makes sense why Zeke didn't put stuff in his mouth. he didn't have normal speech development.
  • Loves to laugh at brother Zekey! They have such a special, cute brother sister bond. Zeke loves her and protects her and she just adores her big brother
  • Loves to give kisses
  • Loves to giggle
  • Loves to suck her thumb when she is hungry or when she tries to fall asleep, when she is awake she sucks on whatever she can find
  • She has her 2 bottom teeth, and they are so stinkin' cute!

At her 6 month check-up
Weight 17.5 lbs-70%
Height 27.1 inches-90%
Head 16.7 in-48%

compared to her 4 month
Weight 15.09 lbs-79%
Height 25.5 inches-88.5%
Head 16 in-38.4%

We just love this little girl! We love her chubby little thighs and big beautiful blue eyes! She is so much fun and brings so much joy and laughter into our home. She is a talker and loves to have conversations with us. She is always happy and always willing to give kisses. We love you Kristiina and are so happy you are part of our family.

Kristiina's blessing

We blessed Kristiina on July 3, 2011. It was perfect. Brandon blessed her and did an amazing job, he is such a good daddy and he loves Zeke and Kristiina so much. We had most of our families there, and there was such a beautiful spirit that day. There is something so special and wonderful about blessing a new baby, they are sent from heaven and you can certainly feel it.
I have been holding onto and saving the leftover fabric from my wedding dress, hoping to be able to make my little girl a blessing dress out of it, and I did! My mom helped me with the dress, I couldn't have done it without her. I LOVE how it turned out. I also had so much fun making her a beautiful headband, girls are so much fun to dress!

I knew that the day of her blessing would be busy and I wouldn't be able to get the pictures of her that I wanted to, so a week before her blessing I took her to get her pictures done. She is such a pretty little thing and I love how her pictures turned out.

Love this face, So sweet!

I knew the day wold be busy and of course this is the only family picture we got. Zeke had already changed out of his church clothes and Brandon had already taken Kristiina's headband off.  He hates headbands because he says they get in the way.  At least we got one family picture, it seems like it gets harder and harder all the time to get family pictures taken so I am grateful for at least one decent one. :)

We are still alive!

Forgive me for not posting in a long time, it's been over 3 months! I have lots to update and lots of pictures. We have had such a busy fun summer and I am sad it is over. I have been without the internet on my computer because we moved it off of my kitchen counter to a little desk and it hasn't been hooked up yet! I finally have internet and a lot of catching up to do. It might take a few posts to get our summer and September all updated. I will start with June:

Zeke sure loves his little sister. He can never get enough of her and he loves being funny with her

Mumma with Zeke and Kristiina.  I can't believe how little Kristiina looks and how much hair she had. They grow up way too fast!

Papa got a new basketball hoop, Zeke practicing his slam dunks.

Uncle Christian teaching Zeke how to play!

So we were all sitting inside, Zeke comes in stands by the door and says  "I need your keys, I moobe (move) your car." It was pretty funny because he was really serious. In Victoria's car getting ready to move it so he could play basketball.
Aunt Victoria helping Zeke move the car.

In June, Mandi, Blake and Kennedy were in town so we got Butterfield Family pictures Since we haven't had any since I was pregnant with Zeke.

Happy 3 months!

I can't believe this cute little thing is already 3 months! Time goes by way too fast.

-Kristiina is rolling from her back to her tummy.  She is not a huge fan of tummy time so when she does roll over she gets pretty mad.

-She is smiling all the time and we can usually get some giggles from her too!

-She will not take a binky but thoroughly enjoys her hands.

-She is sleeping through the night. Hooray! Except the last couple nights she has had a runny/stuffy nose so she wakes up because she has a hard time breathing. So I feed her and she goes back to sleep until about 8 or 9.

-She loves to eat! And her cute chubby thighs prove it. I can't wait to start her on rice cereal!

Kristiina has big beautiful blue eyes. We call these her surprised eyes!
We sure love this little girl and are so happy she is part of our family!

Funny things Zeke says

Zeke is really speaking well and it is fun to hear him say funny things.  I thought I would write them down so I wouldn't forget them...

There is a little neighbor boy that Zeke loves to play with and one day after school Zeke wanted to play with him but he was in his house.  Zeke stood on our porch facing his house and started yelling, "Caden, come play with Zekey!" over and over again.  It was so funny. I had to try to explain to him that Caden was in his house and couldn't hear him.

Zeke was sick this last week and he had to miss school one day.  He went potty and he was talking about school and I told him he couldn't go because he had sick poopies and he was sick and we didn't want him to get his friends at school sick.  A little later he was talking and telling me, "No school today, shoot." I responded back saying. "yep there is no school today for Zekey, you are sick." He looked at me with a funny face and said, "Zekey not sick, Poopies sick."

We were in the car and Zeke was playing with his plastic cell phone and I turned around to talk to him and he looked up at me and put his finger up and said, "one minute, I'm texting!" Oh dear, I better watch what I say because he probably got that from me. (He wanted to play with my phone once and I told him one minute I am texting and to let me finish.)

It was Sunday and we were visiting Grandparents.  It was getting really late and I told Zeke we needed to leave so he could go to sleep because he had school in the morning.  He looked at me and said, "Zekey sick, no school tomorrow." He didn't want to leave and go to bed so he thought if he told me he was sick he wouldn't have to leave grandma's house. Isn't 3 a little young for him to be telling me he is sick to miss school?

Zeke is such a funny kid and I love hearing him speak and say funny things!

2 Months Old

This happy, blue eyed baby is 2 months already! I can't believe how fast that went!  As you can see she is a very happy pleasant little thing that loves to eat!

At her check-up she was
11.78 lbs which is in the 75 %tile
23.7 inches-91 %tile
and her head is 15.2 inches-46%tile

She is so fun and is really starting to interact and smile at us.  When she wakes up in the morning and I look at her and tell her good morning she looks up at me and smiles really big but then she remembers she is hungry and starts to cry.  She loves to eat especially at night right before bed.  Starting around 6 she wants to eat like every hour and a half and then around 10 or 10:30 she eats one last time then sleeps until 5 or 5:30! It is so nice to get a big stretch of sleep, it makes for a happy mommy.  We just love her and have so much fun with her. Zeke is still an awesome big brother and he loves to hold her and give her kisses!

An update on Zeke

I thought that I would do an update on Zeke since I haven't really done one of just him in a little while.  Zeke is doing really well with his speech! He is getting easier to understand all the time.  He has also had a little bit of attitude with me at times like telling me to go in time out if I tell him to do something he doesn't want to do.  He usually says and points to the time out chair, "Time out Mommy!" Sometimes he even says "Now" at the end of the sentence.  He is a good boy though and we are working on talking nice and being nice to everyone.
I don't know if you noticed in some of the pictures he is only wearing one implant. Well at the beginning of April Zeke fell off of a bar stool and hit his head on the tile pretty hard.  Hard enough that the internal device broke and Zeke has to have surgery to replace it.  I am very sad that this happened and hate to see him have surgery again but it will be for the best. We aren't sure when his surgery will be because the implant is not on the market right now.  The company had 2 implanted people out of about 28,000 who were getting like a shock when they would put their implant on. So they took them off the market until they found out what the problem was with the implants in the 2 people.  Hopefully this summer they will be ready to start implanting again and doing surgery.

Zeke still loves school and is learning so much! He can count to 10 sometimes 12 and he recognizes and can name almost the entire alphabet! If I point to an 'A' he will tell me the letter and usually tells me whose name starts with an 'A'. If I ask him what sound letters make he can tell me almost all of the sounds.  He can also name all of the days of the week in order, during Spring Break last week he told me "No school Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday." He is a very smart boy and I am so proud of all the progress he has made!

Zeke loves to sing songs. In the car I am constantly hearing him sing.  It is really cute and funny to listen to him.  The other day he was singing Twinkle Twinkle little Star mixed with Old Mcdonald had a farm. It was darling, I wish I could have gotten it on video. I am excited this week to go to Zeke's first school performance.  They will be singing all the songs they have learned this year! I can't wait!

Zeke is a great big brother and he absolutley adores Kristiina! He is always asking to hold her and he gives her lots of kisses and hugs. He always worries when she cries and tries to make her happy by giving her a binky (which she hates) or by talking to her and telling her it's okay.

Happy Easter!

My two cute kids on Easter Sunday. It was such a nice day that we got to spend with family. My brother Christian got ordained an Elder on Sunday morning so we went to that and after, Kristiina and I were able to make it to our ward for the last 40 minutes of Sacrament meeting.
This is Zeke's surprised face.
On Saturday my parents had an Easter Egg Hunt and lunch! Zeke was so excited! He called his Easter Basket his Easter Bunny Basket! It was so fun to watch how happy and excited he was to find eggs and candy.
He was grinning from ear to ear the entire hunt!

This is how he would search for the candy and eggs.

Zeke checking out the treats he found
Happy Easter!

Baby Kristiina

We are so happy that our sweet Kristiina is here. She is perfect and we are all so in love with her.  The delivery went fantastically. My water broke around 9 pm on Monday night and we arrived at the hospital around 10. By the time we got to the hospital my contractions started getting stronger and about 5 minutes apart.  I got an epidural around 1:00-1:30 and was ready to have this little girl by 2:15 but had to wait for my doctor to get to the hospital.  I only had to push for about 5 minutes and at 2:50 a.m. we saw our little one who was ready to be snuggled and loved.

After about 6 hours of labor I finally got to hold my little girl. I love looking at this little bundle who was just sent from heaven, it is such an incredible feeling.

Zeke was so excited to meet his little sister and was grinning from ear to ear after he saw her for the first time. He is such a proud and a wonderful big brother. He is very helpful and always giving kisses and hugs. When he gets home from school the first thing he does is ask where sister is so he can give her kisses.
Proud daddy!

I love this picture! He is always asking to hold Kristiina and looks at her so sweetly and caring.

Happy big brother

Kristiina has very large beautiful eyes which we love to look at!

1 week old.
First real bath. She hated it and still hates baths and being naked as well as getting dressed, and diaper changes.

2 weeks old
My babies love to smile the day they are born. Kristiina smiles all the time especially after she eats and burps.  She also giggles/laughs all the time. So sweet.
At her 2 week appointment she had gained almost 1 lbs. since we left the hospital. She was 6 lbs. 11 oz. when we left the hospital and was 7 lbs. 10.5 oz at her appointment! She is such a good eater which makes it nice and easy on mommy.  She eats every 3 1/2-4 hours and sleeps 5 hours at a time during the night. She is a very good baby!
Love this sweet little face.

3 weeks old.
We love all of her hair and she has funny cowlicks that make her hair stick up in the middle in a little fo-hawk.

I can't believe she is already 3 weeks old. Happy 3 weeks baby girl, you are very loved and are so excited you are part of our family!
