An update on Zeke

I thought that I would do an update on Zeke since I haven't really done one of just him in a little while.  Zeke is doing really well with his speech! He is getting easier to understand all the time.  He has also had a little bit of attitude with me at times like telling me to go in time out if I tell him to do something he doesn't want to do.  He usually says and points to the time out chair, "Time out Mommy!" Sometimes he even says "Now" at the end of the sentence.  He is a good boy though and we are working on talking nice and being nice to everyone.
I don't know if you noticed in some of the pictures he is only wearing one implant. Well at the beginning of April Zeke fell off of a bar stool and hit his head on the tile pretty hard.  Hard enough that the internal device broke and Zeke has to have surgery to replace it.  I am very sad that this happened and hate to see him have surgery again but it will be for the best. We aren't sure when his surgery will be because the implant is not on the market right now.  The company had 2 implanted people out of about 28,000 who were getting like a shock when they would put their implant on. So they took them off the market until they found out what the problem was with the implants in the 2 people.  Hopefully this summer they will be ready to start implanting again and doing surgery.

Zeke still loves school and is learning so much! He can count to 10 sometimes 12 and he recognizes and can name almost the entire alphabet! If I point to an 'A' he will tell me the letter and usually tells me whose name starts with an 'A'. If I ask him what sound letters make he can tell me almost all of the sounds.  He can also name all of the days of the week in order, during Spring Break last week he told me "No school Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday." He is a very smart boy and I am so proud of all the progress he has made!

Zeke loves to sing songs. In the car I am constantly hearing him sing.  It is really cute and funny to listen to him.  The other day he was singing Twinkle Twinkle little Star mixed with Old Mcdonald had a farm. It was darling, I wish I could have gotten it on video. I am excited this week to go to Zeke's first school performance.  They will be singing all the songs they have learned this year! I can't wait!

Zeke is a great big brother and he absolutley adores Kristiina! He is always asking to hold her and he gives her lots of kisses and hugs. He always worries when she cries and tries to make her happy by giving her a binky (which she hates) or by talking to her and telling her it's okay.

Happy Easter!

My two cute kids on Easter Sunday. It was such a nice day that we got to spend with family. My brother Christian got ordained an Elder on Sunday morning so we went to that and after, Kristiina and I were able to make it to our ward for the last 40 minutes of Sacrament meeting.
This is Zeke's surprised face.
On Saturday my parents had an Easter Egg Hunt and lunch! Zeke was so excited! He called his Easter Basket his Easter Bunny Basket! It was so fun to watch how happy and excited he was to find eggs and candy.
He was grinning from ear to ear the entire hunt!

This is how he would search for the candy and eggs.

Happy Easter!

Baby Kristiina

We are so happy that our sweet Kristiina is here. She is perfect and we are all so in love with her.  The delivery went fantastically. My water broke around 9 pm on Monday night and we arrived at the hospital around 10. By the time we got to the hospital my contractions started getting stronger and about 5 minutes apart.  I got an epidural around 1:00-1:30 and was ready to have this little girl by 2:15 but had to wait for my doctor to get to the hospital.  I only had to push for about 5 minutes and at 2:50 a.m. we saw our little one who was ready to be snuggled and loved.

After about 6 hours of labor I finally got to hold my little girl. I love looking at this little bundle who was just sent from heaven, it is such an incredible feeling.

Zeke was so excited to meet his little sister and was grinning from ear to ear after he saw her for the first time. He is such a proud and a wonderful big brother. He is very helpful and always giving kisses and hugs. When he gets home from school the first thing he does is ask where sister is so he can give her kisses.
Proud daddy!

I love this picture! He is always asking to hold Kristiina and looks at her so sweetly and caring.

Happy big brother

Kristiina has very large beautiful eyes which we love to look at!

1 week old.
First real bath. She hated it and still hates baths and being naked as well as getting dressed, and diaper changes.

2 weeks old
My babies love to smile the day they are born. Kristiina smiles all the time especially after she eats and burps.  She also giggles/laughs all the time. So sweet.
At her 2 week appointment she had gained almost 1 lbs. since we left the hospital. She was 6 lbs. 11 oz. when we left the hospital and was 7 lbs. 10.5 oz at her appointment! She is such a good eater which makes it nice and easy on mommy.  She eats every 3 1/2-4 hours and sleeps 5 hours at a time during the night. She is a very good baby!
Love this sweet little face.

3 weeks old.
We love all of her hair and she has funny cowlicks that make her hair stick up in the middle in a little fo-hawk.

I can't believe she is already 3 weeks old. Happy 3 weeks baby girl, you are very loved and are so excited you are part of our family!
