Zeke counting his cars!

He counts up to about 8 with a little help! It is kind of quiet since it is from my phone so you might have to turn up the volume

Our busy month of July!

July has been pretty busy, hence the lack of posts. I have been so busy I completely forgot about Zeke's 1 year Hearing Birthday! I feel awful for forgetting! I can't believe he has been hearing for a year! Congratulations Zeke, we are so happy for you and all you have accomplished! We love you!  Zeke is doing well with his speech. He probably says over 100 words. They still aren't as clear as we would like but we are working on it. If I ask him where something is he usually replies with a "where'd it go?" or a "there it is" He can count to 5 which is the cutest thing ever! He is constantly lining up his cars and counting them and also counts things before he eats them like his gold fish crackers.
This picture is from June when we went and saw Toy Story 3 but I forgot to post it earlier so I am posting it now because I thought it was so cute. Our friends won some tickets through his work to see the movie and they invited our family, it was lots of fun and we even got free popcorn and drinks! Thanks Nick and Jen! Zeke was so excited to go and see Toy Story 3, before we went I let him watch the Trailers for the movie and told him where we were going so he would kind of have an idea. Here Zeke is waiting for our ride to go see Toy Story 3 with his Woody outfit and his new Woody toy! He loved the movie and sat through the entire thing.

The day after surgery we did some fire works at home since we didn't really want to go anywhere. Zeke loved doing sparklers probably the best. It was funny when we did loud whistling fire works like Piccolo Pete's, Zeke would make the whistle, screeching noise.

Another big thing this month is that Zeke is no longer on the Binky or Bottle! He was only allowed to have his binky when he went to sleep and same with a bottle. He knew it too, sometimes he would find a binky and put it in his mouth then spit it out because he knew he couldn't have it. I went to girls camp and before I left Brandon told me that Zeke would be off the bottle and binky when I got home. Sure enough he was. Brandon said he didn't even ask for it while I was gone, but the day I got home from camp Zeke asked me for a bottle and a binky and got really mad at me that I wouldn't give it to him. I guess he knows mommy is a little more nice then dad. :)  One morning he really wanted a binky and he found one under my bed. I told him that it was dirty and he couldn't have it.  He went downstairs to the kitchen and pushed a chair up to the sink and started washing it. He knew he couldn't have it so when he was done washing it he put it on the counter and went and played with his cars.

Oh, I almost forgot Zeke is potty trained! Well he was before his surgery and then he started having accidents after surgery and while I was at girls camp for a week. He is doing better now though, which makes me happy!

Surgery

Zeke's surgery went very well. When he woke up from surgery he was not a happy camper. He was fighting like crazy trying to pull off his bandages. This picture is a few hours after surgery. He wouldn't lay down to go sleep, silly boy.  Last night when we put him to bed he fell asleep sitting up because he didn't want to lay down and throughout the night he was sitting up sleeping. He got out of surgery around 12:15 and we didn't get home until after 9 p.m. because they had to make sure he could keep liquids down. He wouldn't drink any clear liquids though, not even jello or a popsicle or a slushy. He only wanted milk or chocolate milk. He did drink some chocolate milk but threw it all up. Around 8 he finally drank some more chocolate milk and he kept it down so we got to leave shortly after. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Everything went as planned and we are very grateful.
