My Little Gardener and some Hearing Updates

I forgot I had these pictures that I have to share. It was a Sunday morning and Zeke wanted to go outside and use his new watering can that he got for Easter. We are re-doing our flower beds in the front and in the back yard. This flower bed had rocks that we moved to the front. We are eventually going to tear this flower bed out and put grass because there are so many flower beds at our house. I know it looks awful! Anyway, Zeke loves to water the holes where the rocks use to be. I thought it was so funny, at one point he was just pouring the water out and running at the same time trying to water each hole. What a silly little boy.

Zeke had some testing yesterday because we haven't been able to get any good testing results since last October. I am so thrilled and grateful for the results. My little deaf boy is hearing at normal levels! He responded within normal range for 500-4000 Hz and speech around 15-20 decibels! Amazing! I am just so happy and can't believe how well he is hearing. He also has been talking up a storm and tries to say everything! We also got some other great news from our insurance last week! Our insurance authorized a 2nd cochlear implant which means Zeke will be receiving his 2nd implant on July 2nd if everything goes as planned. We are so excited for Zeke and the progress he has made with his first cochlear implant and can't wait to see him progress with a 2nd one.

A visit to the Aquarium!

A good friend, Jen, asked if Zeke and I wanted to go to the Aquarium with her to see the penguins and other neat sea creatures. The last time I went was on my Birthday 2 years ago on the day we found out that Zeke was deaf. I am glad we went though. Zeke was thrilled to be there, he loved it!

He loved pointing to all the different fish and he just kept talking and was so excited! I couldn't really tell what he was saying but I know that he loved it. After he got tired of looking at one thing he would ask for more and we would go to the next aquarium.

The penguins were my favorite! I think Zeke's as well. They were so cute and would come right up to the glass.

I thought this little polka dotted creature was so cute! I love black and white polka dots! We had a really fun time and it was so fun to watch Zeke and how excited he got with all the animals.

Say Cheese!

For Earth Day a couple weeks ago, Zeke and I celebrated by making an earth cake! He loved licking the spatula the best!

Monkey Face

Kisses anyone?

Our Earth Cake. I especially like how the flour that I dusted the pan with made it look like there was cloud cover on our Earth!

I also celebrated Earth Day by recycling some of Brandon's old shirts to make new shirts for Zeke.
